You Deserve to Feel Confident in Your Sexuality

Talking about sex can feel deeply vulnerable. Many people carry shame, confusion, or fear around their sexual experiences, sexual behaviors, or sexual issues – but you don’t have to navigate these sexual concerns alone.

What is Sex Therapy?

Support for Sexual Health, Intimacy, and Connection

Sex therapy is a specialized form of talk therapy focused on understanding human sexuality, intimacy concerns, and relationship dynamics. Working with a Certified Sex Therapist means receiving care from someone with advanced training, extensive clinical experience, and ongoing supervision.

As an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist, I help clients address:

  • Intimacy issues

  • Sexual dysfunctions and sexual difficulties

  • Sexual trauma, sexual abuse, and past traumas

  • Desire discrepancy, low desire, and changes in sex drive

  • Sexual orientation and gender identity

  • Anxiety related to sexual performance or sexual activity

Whether you’re experiencing low libido, performance anxiety, painful intercourse, erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, or difficulty feeling connected to a loved one, sex therapy help can offer meaningful relief. As a qualified sex therapist and licensed mental health professional, I provide individual therapy grounded in compassion, education, and evidence-based care.

How I Can Support You

Reclaiming Your Connection to Pleasure and Self

Sex therapy isn’t about “fixing” you – it’s about understanding yourself with kindness. Together, we create a safe spacewhere curiosity replaces shame and confidence grows.

  • Communication & Desire

Build communication skills that support emotional closeness and sexual satisfaction. Learn to talk about wants, boundaries, and needs – whether you’re dating, in a long-term partnership, or navigating relationship problems.

  • Rewriting Intimacy Postpartum

Sex doesn’t disappear after a baby, but intimacy often shifts. We explore new ways of connecting amid exhaustion, identity changes, and evolving sexual function, beyond intercourse alone.

  • Healing from Trauma

Gently address sexual trauma, anxiety, and avoidance linked to past sexual or relational harm. Therapy supports rebuilding trust with your body and your sexual relationship.

  • Present-Moment Awareness

Mindfulness-based techniques help reduce anxiety, increase pleasure, and improve sexual connection during intimate moments. Together we address performance anxiety and reconnecting with your body in a calm, safe space.

  • Pelvic Pain Support

Evidence-based support for vaginismus, vulvodynia, and other forms of pelvic pain that affect sexual wellness. Working together we create a treatment plan that supports sexual function and reduces fear around painful intercourse.

  • Sexual Response Concerns

Compassionate care for erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, performance anxiety, and other sexual challenges – without pressure or judgment. Through talk therapy, we explore sexual performance concerns in a non-judgmental space that honors your sexual experiences and goals.

Whether you're exploring gender identity, navigating sexual orientation, engaging in kink or BDSM, or practicing ethical non-monogamy, therapy offers language and tools that honor who you are.

FAQs

Finding Comfort and Clarity in the Process

  • Yes – and for many, online therapy is actually the preferred way to discuss sensitive sexual concerns. As a sex therapist online, I provide specialized care through secure telehealth sessions for clients in California and Idaho.

Meeting in your own safe space often makes it easier to open up about intimacy issues or sexual difficulties without the added stress of a commute. My services are designed to be just as personal and effective as in-person work, focusing on building a supportive environment where you can explore your unique needs with ease.

  • Investing in your sexual health and the quality of your relationships is a significant step toward long-term well-being. My fee for a 50-minute individual session is $185.

As a licensed mental health professional, I am committed to transparency regarding your treatment plan. While I am in network with LYRA EAP, I recommend you verify coverage with your HR department. For all other insurances, I can provide a “superbill” for you to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. Prior to our first meeting, you will receive a “Good Faith Estimate” to ensure you have full clarity on the financial aspect of your sex therapy help.

  • Choosing a therapist is a deeply personal decision, and I want to ensure we are the right match for your journey. I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation where we can briefly touch on your sexual concerns – such as desire discrepancy, sexual trauma, or intimacy concerns – and I can answer any questions about my approach.

While I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, my current practice is focused on individual therapy. If your needs are better suited for couples counseling or specialized family therapy, I am happy to provide referrals to other licensed therapists who specialize in those areas.

  • It is completely normal to feel a bit nervous at first. In our online sessions, we move at your pace in a strictly non-judgmental space. We start by exploring your history and the sexual challenges that brought you here. I ask specific assessment questions to clarify diagnoses and break down where in the process you are experiencing challenges, and may refer to other specialists if needed (urologist, gynecologists, pelvic floor physical therapists).
